The city has a typical Andalusian city centre, with white buildings with wrought iron balconies and Mudejar style, bearing witness to the fact that the city was ruled by Muslims for almost 5 centuries.
You can visit the Cathedral of Jerez de la Frontera, whose bell tower, like that of Seville’s cathedral, was originally the minaret of a mosque. Another major historic site in the city is the Alcázar of Jerez de la Frontera, an old Muslim fortress that was later expanded by Christians.
Of course, wine production also attracts many tourists to Jerez, and visits to wine cellars and wine tastings are one of the highlights. The city is also famous for its equestrian arts and the Andalusian Horse Farm, where you can enjoy excellent horse riding shows.
