Nocturnal urination is a big problem! 2 actions can improve it

Similar studies have been conducted in hospitals in Okinawa and Kyoto, Japan. A clinical experiment was conducted on 9 men and women aged 65 to 85 with frequent urination. The subjects were asked to raise their lower limbs for 20 minutes 3 to 5 hours before going to bed every day for 8 weeks.

At the beginning, all patients had to go to the toilet an average of 2.4 times a night, but after 4 weeks of the experiment, it dropped to 1.8 times, and after 8 weeks it dropped to 1.2 times, which is exactly half of the original time.

Not only that, the patients’ urine output also decreased. The average nighttime urine output of the subjects was 721 ml, which dropped to 630 ml after 4 weeks and to 382 ml after 8 weeks. The most obvious case was an 82-year-old man who initially urinated 1,330 ml every night, but after 8 weeks it dropped to 540 ml, a decrease of 790 ml.

This study found that the subjects not only improved their frequent urination at night, but also improved their foot edema during the day. This can reduce the load on our heart, so this action also has the effect of preventing heart disease.

If there are elders at home who are troubled by frequent urination, you can ask them to spend 35 minutes every day doing these two actions for two months, and the frequent urination at night will be greatly improved.

Adjust your diet

In addition to the above two actions, you should also be careful not to eat diuretic foods before going to bed. In addition to coffee, tea, alcohol, and water, you should also avoid the following diuretic foods: citrus fruits, watermelon, sugar apple, avocado, dragon fruit, kiwi, banana, strawberry, tomato, lemon, winter melon, kelp, red beans, coix seed, black beans, etc.

You can eat more of these foods during the day, which will help excrete water from the body and improve lower limb edema, but remember not to eat them two hours before going to bed.

For people over 40 years old who have overactive bladder or prostate hypertrophy due to aging, they can take more nutrients that are beneficial to the urinary system, such as pumpkin seeds, lycopene, soy isoflavones, zinc, selenium, etc.
