What is Obamacare?
There are many types of health insurance in the United States, and the medical items covered are different. Major Health Insurance , commonly known as ACA/Obamacare, must include ” Essential Health Benefits “. These insurances must cover the following items:
- Visit a hospital outpatient clinic
- Visit the emergency department
- Hospitalization
- Pregnancy, delivery and newborn care
- Mental health and substance use disorder services, including behavioral health treatment (including counseling and psychotherapy)
- Prescription drugs
- Rehabilitation and rehabilitation services and equipment
- Laboratory related services
- Preventive and wellness services, and chronic disease management
- Pediatric services, including oral and eye care (adult oral and eye care are not considered Medically Necessary benefits)
- contraception
- Breastfeeding (e.g. reimbursement for breast pump expenses)

Open Enrollment Period:
- November 1 : Open enrollment begins, and registered health insurance will take effect on January 1 of the following year.
